SUNY's new chancellor plans out year ahead

ALBANY - SUNY's new chancellor is laying out her vision for the year ahead.

Kristina Johnson delivered her first State of the University Monday morning.

Johnson took over as chancellor in September. She focused on four themes: innovation and entrepreneurship, individualized education, sustainability and partnership.

Johnson says investments are needed for success.

"We will make targeted investments in research that will advance our understanding of how artificial intelligence and machine learning will impact every industry and academic field -- including finance, medicine, transportation the arts, the physical sciences, social sciences and humanities," avowed Johnson.

Johnson also said SUNY needs to invest in more full-time faculty..
