Collar City mulls sanctuary city distinction

TROY - A Troy lawmaker wants the Collar City to strongly declare that it is a sanctuary city.

City Council Member David Bissember introduced legislation meant to affirm the city of Troy as a sanctuary city that does not inquire about the immigration status of people looking for government services.

The resolution will appear on the agenda for the public safety meeting scheduled for Tuesday evening.
