Family of couple killed in Schoharie limo crash sues Mavis Discount Tire

The family of an Amsterdam couple who died in last October's Schoharie limousine crash is suing Mavis Discount Tire.

As first reported by the Times Union, the lawsuit accuses the company of an illegal inspection and bad brake repairs to the stretch limo.

Twenty people died in the crash.

According to the complaint NewsChannel 13 obtained, the family of Erin and Shane McGowan filed the suit. They say Mavis "knowingly and willfully" inspected the limo five months before the crash without the authority to do so.
