Beloved school therapy dog named Albany County's 'Citizen of the Month'

For the first time, the Albany County "Citizen of the Month" is not a human being. A school therapy dog named "Maggie" received the honor on Thursday morning with some of her favorite second graders in the hilltowns.

Strolling the halls of Berne-Knox-Westerlo Elementary, one student calls Maggie "a walking happiness machine."

The 3-year old black lab will take as much affection as you can dish out - and give it back.

Maggie's partner, Katrina Emmerich, who is the school psychologist, says an angry or upset student is almost immediately put at ease.
