Police: Man ripped electric meter of home in money dispute

A Washington County man is accused of ripping an electric meter out of a house.

Police say 74-year-old Charles McDonough went to a home on Hunt Avenue and removed the meter box on the pole outside. Investigators say he then walked back to his house with it.

He told police he took the meter because the residents owed him money.
