Man airlifted after crashing motorcycle

A Johnstown man was airlifted to Albany Medical Center in serious condition after crashing his motorcycle late Sunday night, Glenville Police said.

Sean Gamble, 30, was speeding through the intersection of Route 5 and 103 near Rotterdam Junction around 11:30 p.m., police said. No other vehicles were involved.

"The accident is still under investigation, however at this time, it appears excessive speed is the main contributing factor," police said in a statement. Glenville Police were assisted at the scene by the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Department, Beukendaal Fire Department, Rotterdam Junction Fire Department, Glenville Highway Department and Mohawk Ambulance Service.
