Man arrested for throwing brick at police officer during Albany riot

ALBANY -- A Delmar man, who allegedly threw a brick at an Albany police officer during a riot Saturday night at the Albany Police South Station, has been arrested.

Police said James Vail, 21, threw a brick at the head of a uniformed officer at the police station on Arch St.

As a result, the officer sustained a concussion and was treated at a local hospital.

According to police, Vail is also responsible for throwing a brick at the window of an Albany police car, shattering its window.

Vail is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Albany City Criminal Court.
