Man killed while building gender reveal device

New York State Police and the New York State Police Bomb Disposal Unit are investigating a gender reveal gone horribly wrong.

Troopers were called to home in the village of Liberty, in Sullivan County, for an explosion on Sunday.

Troopers say 28-year-old Christopher Penky was killed when a device he was building for the reveal exploded. His brother, 27-year-old Michael Penky was hurt.

There is no word on his condition.
