Rotterdam man pleads guilty to assaulting 2-month-old son

A man from Rotterdam pleaded guilty on Monday to reckless assault of a child.

Tristan Tinney admitted in Schenectady Supreme Court that he shook his two-month-old son, and slammed the baby's head on a hard surface.

Tinney was arrested after the child was brought to Albany Medical Center with a brain injury and fractured ribs.

Tinney originally said the injuries were caused by an accident while the baby was in his care.
