Manslaughter conviction upheld for Troy man who killed pregnant girlfriend

An appeals court has upheld the manslaughter conviction of the Troy man who killed his pregnant girlfriend, then set her apartment on fire to cover it up.

Gabriel Vega will continue to serve two consecutive 25-year prison terms.

A jury convicted him of strangling Vanessa Milligan back in 2014. She was one week away from giving birth.

Vega claimed the jury's verdict was not supported by evidence. The appeals court disagreed.
