GLOVERSVILLE – Vittorio Barnett, 18, was dozing off Thursday night when his brother, Lymon, 20, walked into his room.
"My brother just walked in the room and I was like, what is going on? It was crazy," said Vittorio. He hopes he and Lymon can skateboard in person rather than through videos sent. Lymon is a U.S. Marine stationed in Japan. "He's been on base just sending me videos of him at the skate park just trying to one-up me every chance he gets. So yea, that's our relationship."
Vittorio accompanied Lymon as they went from classroom to classroom to surprise his siblings from his blended family. There were a lot of hugs.
"It went perfectly," Lymon said. "I wanted to be able to come home and surprise my family cause when you're away for so long you don't really get to see them. It's harder on them than it is for me because I'm busy and I'm working all the time and I know they're just here doing their normal stuff."
Said mom Kim Fransisco: "So we've gone through an entire year of holidays and birthdays and celebrations and a lot of different things in our family without him here so just to be able for him to come and surprise them and for us to be able to turn it around and show him how much we love and appreciated him, it was great. It was a wonderful opportunity."
