MECHANICVILLE- Police are still investigating a bizarre and scary encounter. A 92-year-old woman in Mechanicville came face to face with an intruder in her home.

She spoke to Jill Konopka after she found him in her spare bedroom. The woman is not being named to protect her identity.

A typical Saturday night for the woman took a strange turn that understandably has left her beyond frightened.

“I was in the living room and I went into my bedroom for something. That is when I saw the window open. That is how it started,” said the woman.

Shortly after, she looked in the spare bedroom to find a man in the guest bed. “When I looked in he jumped out of the bed and ran. I was in the other bedroom so I did not see which way he went,” she said. She says that he could not tell if she was sleeping.

The woman was not injured and nothing was taken.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing a dark hat and light sweatshirt was spotted getting away on a bicycle.

Mechanicville Police are investigating the alleged criminal trespassing and are asking anyone with any information to contact them.
