Amsterdam police have released the name of the man killed in a homicide on Lefferts Street on Thursday. They identify the victim as 37-year-old Michael Cable.

After being stabbed in his apartment, police say Cable went towards the street for help, but collapsed and passed away on the sidewalk outside his home.

Authorities tell NewsChannel 13 it was Cable's girlfriend who found him.
