July 13, 2018 07:06 PM

A Warren County man is behind bars, accused of stealing another man's boat.

The sheriff tells NewsChannel 13 Michael Vittengl rented dock space to the man, who left the boat there. When the owner returned, the boat was gone. The sheriff says Vittengl was using the boat.

The owner of the dock space also says Vittengl had no right to rent it out.

He's charged with grand larceny.

This isn't his first brush with the law. Last year, he was arrested for allegedly stealing a painting from a Saratoga Springs art gallery and trying to sell it. He had also allegedly been soliciting donations for and selling tickets to a fictitious masquerade ball called "The Great Gatsby."
