There was pure happiness at the Jackson County Animal Shelter on Friday. Bentley Boyers, 2, got to bring his new puppy home.

Bentley's dad, Brandon, recently came to the animal shelter to look at two chickens he was thinking to adopt, when a pooch caught his eye. It was a puppy with a cleft lip.

Bentley was also born with a cleft lip. His mom, Ashley, said he had a tough start in life.

Since day one, he's been a happy baby. Ashley says his cleft lip doesn't make him any different. The family feels finding the puppy will show Bentley he isn't alone.

Find out what the animal shelter says about the puppy's future by watching the video of the story.
