Sergeant Jeremy VanNostrand died on November 27, 2018 in an accident outside the State Police Barracks.

"New Yorkers will never forget Sergeant VanNostrand's service to our state and this memorial is a fitting tribute to his life and career of public service,” said Governor Cuomo in a statement.

Sergeant VanNostrand was a six-year veteran who served in Troop G and began his public service career in 2004 as part of the New York State Department of Corrections.
