NAACP Albany mourns loss of leader

The NAACP Albany Branch is mourning the loss of its leader. 

Members have announced the unexpected passing of President Liston Cyrus.

Cyrus served since January of 2019, working closely with Albany Schools on collaborative projects to help pave the way for student success. He also fighting for transparency and justice in recent police brutality allegations. People say his leadership and vision will be missed. 

Debora Brown-Johnson will replace Cyrus according to bylaws.
