NXIVM president to appear in Brooklyn federal court

The president of NXIVM will appear in federal court in Brooklyn on Wednesday.

The U.S. Attorney's Office will only tell NewsChannel 13 that Nancy Salzman is scheduled to plead guilty to an undisclosed crime.

She was indicted last year, along with NXIVM founder Keith Raniere and actress Allison Mack. They're charged with money laundering, extortion and sex trafficking.

Prosecutors say the self-help organization -- based in Colonie, was really an elaborate pyramid scheme.
