National Grid now making door-to-door visits for unpaid bills

Are you behind paying your power bill? You might get a knock on the door from National Grid.

The utility is now going door-to-door to talk to people who are behind with their payments.

National Grid says the number of people in arrears is the highest they’ve seen in a long time.

If people don’t answer the door, a placard is left, telling the customers to act now and that payment options are available.

However, a state mandated pause on power shutoffs remains in place until mid-January.
