Schoharie County fire department to get $12,000 from FEMA

A fire department in Schoharie County is getting nearly $12,000 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The grant will be used to replace old hoses and valves that connect to fire hydrants.

You may remember when Niagara Engine Company No. 6 lost its firehouse in Schoharie to Tropical Storm Irene and Tropical Storm Lee.

FEMA eventually provided more than $6 million for a new firehouse.
