NISKAYUNA -- The ninth annual Niskayuna District One Fire Department "Stuff the Truck” event kicked off Saturday morning.

For the last few months, volunteers from local American Legion posts and bike groups have been working to raise money and buy toys for the Marine Corp's Toys for Tots campaign.

On Saturday, they delivered thousands of dollars in unwrapped gifts. Organizers say it doesn't take much to help make a boy or girl's holiday something special.

“Kids are told in media, newspapers and commercials, if you're good Santa wouldn't forget you. Unfortunately, too many of these kids are getting forgotten,” said Scotty Ewen of Bad Moon Drivers.

After dropping off the goods, the volunteers gathered at LTs Tavern for food, live music, and a chance to collect more gifts.
