A North Adams woman investigators say was brutally attacked by her husband earlier this year has now died.

Investigators say Charli Cook, 41, died at Baystate Hospital on Sunday afternoon. She had been there since July 11.

Her husband, Michael Cook, was facing a number of assault and battery charges, which were tied with an intent to murder. He’s at Berkshire County House of Correction.

The district attorney is now looking to upgrade the charges.
