NXIVM leader guilty on all charges

A federal jury has found NXIVM leader Keith Raniere guilty on all charges. The charges included 11 acts of racketeering, racketeering conspiracy, forced labor conspiracy, wire fraud conspiracy, two counts sex trafficking, and attempted sex trafficking.

For the last six weeks jurors have heard testimony from former NXIVM members who spoke about their experiences with Raniere.


NXIVM was founded and headquartered in Colonie at the Karner Woods Offices.

Raniere was charged with sex trafficking. Former members have testified and spoken about their experiences of physical and mental pain, including the branding of Raniere's initials. The jury has also heard charges of child pornography, including that of a 15-year-old girl.

Nancy Salzman, her daughter Lauren, and Allison Mack have all pleaded guilty.

Raniere faces live in prison when he's sentenced on September 25. An appeal is planned.
