NYS beaches reopen for Memorial Day weekend

The 16 beaches in New York State opened for swimming with lifeguards.

However, there is a 50 percent capacity restriction.


Group contact activities including sports, such as football and volleyball, are banned.

Picnic areas, playgrounds and amusement rides will be closed.

Beachgoers also need to wear masks when they are unable to be six feet apart from people.
