Officer-involved shooting in Albany

Albany police are investigating an officer-involved shooting.

They say around 4:30 p.m. Monday, they got a call for a fight in the 200 block of Central Avenue, possibly involving someone with a weapon.

A detective unit in the area quickly found a suspect at the scene matching a description.

As they approached, police say he took off running to the rear of 395 Elk Street and was shot.

The suspect was taken to Albany Medical Center. His condition is not known.

Police say a large hunting knife was found at the scene.
