In eight months, all eyes will be on Tokyo for the start of the 2020 Olympic Games. However, next week, we'll be watching Germany where a young lady from the Capital Region will be going for the gold in a different kind of Olympics.
She's been on Team USA for just a few months and is already one its rising stars.
Every week, for the past eight years, 10-year-old Olivia Roglieri has packed her bag for dance class.
She began dancing when she was just 2 years old. Her sister did it and she wanted to try it.
When she was 5, instructors started choreographing routines specific to her advanced skill level. Just last spring, she won a local competition with the most difficult routine she's ever done.
The video of Olivia's performance was posted on social media. Soon after, her mom Carrie got a message from someone on Facebook. She said she was part of the American Tap Company in Boston and that she wanted Olivia to be part of the world championships in Germany with Team USA.
It's kind of like the tap dancing of Olympics.
Hear more about all the hard work Olivia has put in for this moment, by watching the video of Jerry Gretzinger's story.
