Man arrested in convenience store robberies spanning two counties

A man is under arrest after a robbery and chase investigation.

William Jersey, 20, is accused of two robberies and of leading police on a chase spanning two counties.

Colonie police say he robbed the Mobil station at 610 Troy-Schenectady Road just before midnight. One employee was at the store at the time and gave the suspect about $400 in cash.

Police say Jersey fled in a green minivan. Then, he allegedly robbed the Cumberland Farms on Jay Street. The Rensselaer County sheriff's deputies are investigating that incident.

A chase started and Troy police officers caught and arrested him.
