TROY - A new idea is being floated to find a builder for the vacant One Monument Square space in Troy.

City Council President Carmella Mantello has sent a letter to Mayor Patrick Madden, proposing a special committee to find an appropriate use for the spot on the river. It has been vacant since City Hall was torn down.

Plans for a new movie theater complex were withdrawn earlier this week.

Mantello suggests filling the committee with the mayor, members of City Council, business owners and others with expertise.
