ALBANY – A new flight out of Albany might make the County Executive change is NFL alliance.

"After the Giants season, I can almost go for Buffalo so if you do get that jet on Sundays I'll probably switch teams,” joked Albany County Executive Dan McCoy as he officially welcomed the new OneJet flight in from Buffalo.

OneJet, which already provides flights to and from Pittsburgh, re-started round-trip flights to Buffalo on Tuesday morning. The twice-daily round-trip flights will be particularly popular for business travelers that have meetings in the morning and want to get home for dinner.

"It's a nine-hour round-trip drive and I've been doing it for the last 24 months,” said Mike Keegan, a Sr. Vice President with M&T Bank, headquartered in Buffalo, “so this is a godsend. I can go out and back in a day, I've already booked two flights, today and next week and it's long overdue. I couldn't be happier about the airport and OneJet doing this. It's great.”

Flights run Monday-to-Friday:
Buffalo to Albany: 7:00 a.m. arriving at 7:55 a.m.; 4:50 p.m. arriving 5:45 p.m.
Albany to Buffalo: 8:20 a.m. arriving at 9:20 a.m.; 6:10 p.m. arriving at 7:10 p.m.

"Thank you guys for bringing this route to our attention,” said OneJet CEO Matt Maguire. “Buffalo, the second largest city in the state, Albany, the Capital. Those two should be connected with direct service."

For now there is no Sunday service so any Buffalo Bills fans looking to catch a game will have to leave on Friday and can't return till Monday, unless they drive.
