Six people charged in cellphone scheme at Walmart

Six people are behind bars, accused in a scheme to steal more than $90,000 worth of iPhones from the Gloversville, Amsterdam, and Cobleskill Walmarts.

State police tell NewsChannel 13 employees of OTS Wireless, a company used to sell phone contracts at Walmart, used fraudulent information to sell contracts and phones.

One suspect would give the employees stolen personal information. They would use it to set up phone accounts.

Then, the other suspects would pick up the phones, and then the account would be cancelled.

All six suspects are facing multiple felonies.
