Overladen truck in Hudson helps feed a lot of hungry people

Sometimes, things have an unusual way of working out.

A tractor trailer from Nebraska was overladen while passing through Hudson Tuesday. Inside was 1,600 pounds of chicken.

A supermarket couldn't take on the extra inventory. However, someone from Rock Solid Church on Union Street overheard the discussion in the police station as emergency workers heard about the problem. The church has room for everything in their new walk-in freezer for their food bank.

The okay was given for the donation. The chickens should now feed a lot of hungry people.
