Philadelphia city leaders cancel all large-scale events through February

The city of Philadelphia has canceled all large-scale events into the next year as the coronavirus pandemic continues.

The moratorium was announced Tuesday morning during Mayor Jim Kenney's briefing.


Events like the Thanksgiving Day and New Year’s Day Mummers Parade as well as the city's marathon will not happen.

The moratorium currently runs through February 28, 2021.
