SARATOGA SPRINGS -- A piece of Nazi memorabilia has been pulled from the upcoming Saratoga Springs Gun and Militaria Show.

The Saratoga City Center says Adolf Hitler's personal writing desk will not be on display as scheduled. Tara Gaston, who is a candidate for Saratoga Springs supervisor, was one of those protesting the desk's presence at the show.

"Bringing this display at any time is inappropriate in a manner of glorification, but especially now,” she said.

The Saratoga City Center, where the show is being held, happens to be across the street from Temple Sinai. The city will hold a walk and a vigil Thursday night in response to concerns. It will start at 6 p.m. from three locations: Union Avenue near the track, Beekman Street, and North Broadway near the City Center.

The gun show takes place September 2 and 3.
