Troy's senior parole officer calls it a career

A special piping out ceremony was held on Friday or Troy's senior parole officer.

Officer Bob Thayer has spent much of his career in Troy. He's been a state parole officer since 1987.

In 2002, Officer Thayer received the Medal of Valor for entering a burning building on 2nd Avenue in Troy and helping to rescue its occupants.

Troy police held the ceremony to thank the officer for his dedication at the Troy Police Department and throughout the Capital Region.
