String of early Monday morning crimes keep Pittsfield cops busy

Pittsfield police are investigating an armed robbery, attempted arson, and a shooting.

Police say it happened early Monday morning at the Alltown on Tyler Street.


The suspect was armed with a gun, and made off with cash.

The attempted arson happened on Wendell Avenue. Police say someone deliberately set the fire on a porch and fled the scene on a bicycle.

The shooting took place near the intersection of Dewey and Madison avenues. Police found shell casings, and a car hit by gunfire. It's not clear if a person was hit.

All of the incidents happened between 12:30 and 1:45 a.m.
