Victim identified in Albany homicide

ALBANY – Albany Police have identified the man killed in a homicide on Monday night. They say he's 20-year-old Kenneth Love of Albany.

Police said it happened around 10:15 p.m. in the area of Second Street between Judson Street and North Lake Avenue.


Police said the man was shot in the torso and taken to Albany Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

"We're gathering evidence here at the scene as well as talking to any potential witnesses and looking for any video that may have captured the incident," said Albany Police Officer Steve Smith.

This is the second homicide of the year for the city, but the first shooting related homicide. Police said this is the 35th shooting of the year.

Police are asking anyone with information to reach out to them or Capital Region Crime Stoppers to submit an anonymous tip.
