Police chase ends in deadly crash in Schenectady

A police chase in Schenectady turned deadly on Thursday night.

NewsChannel 13 has learned that the driver has died in the crash. Police have not released the identity of the driver.


The crash happened at 201 Nott Terrace where the driver crashed a BMW into the Mohawk Opportunities Building.

Officers wanted to pull over the driver because of a suspended registration. When the driver failed to pull over, a chase ensued. The chase started on Veeder Avenue and lasted for about half a mile. 

The driver was taken to Ellis Hospital and pronounced dead. 

The scene is cordoned off and remains under investigation.
