ALBANY-- Albany police are investigating an officer involved in a shooting that happened Friday night on Partridge Street.

The officers were able to break in the glass on the front door and locate the women. Police say moments after they called for emergency services, 20-year-old Schuyler Lake emerged from the top of the stairwell and began to walk down armed with a knife.

The officers gave verbal commands to drop the knife. Lake instead proceeded to stab the female. This is when he was shot by rounds of fire and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 52-year-old victim was identified as Lake's mother. She is currently being treated at Albany Medical Center listed in critical condition. Police also found Lake's uncle, age 55, with stab wounds to the abdomen. He is being treated with non-life threatening injuries.
