Since that call, Troy Police have been investigating a possible homicide at the corner of 4th Ave. and 111th St. Fourth Ave. between 110th and 112th and 111th between 3rd and 5th were taped off for more than eight hours while detectives and officers went door-to-door and evidence technicians processed the scene.

“Young girl, very shameful,” said neighbor Sharon Varin. She got up around 3 a.m. to get a bottle of water and heard what she said was a gunshot about a half-hour later.

“Especially in this neighborhood,” added Sandy Bullard, another neighbor.

“This area is so quiet,” said another neighbor on 4th Ave., Jorge Aponte. He and his wife moved onto the block five years ago. “A quiet neighborhood. I don’t know why that happened.”
