Police search for inmate who escaped custody in Hoosick Falls

HOOSICK FALLS - Hoosick Falls Police are looking for 34-year-old Justin Faatz, who they say escaped police custody Wednesday night.

Faatz was arrested back in January on burglary charges.

New York State Police and the Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office are assisting in the search. Police have set up a command center on Main Street in the village.

Faatz was last seen wearing a grey fleece zip up, red t-shirt, dark pants, with a handcuff on his right hand.

Police have not said how Faatz escaped custody.
