HOOSICK FALLS -  Police said late Thursday afternoon that Hoosick Falls escapee Justin Faatz is still not in police custody - and they no longer believe he's in the area.

The 34-year-old man escaped Thursday, walking out of the police station with a handcuff still on his wrist. The chief is not saying how he escaped.

He was picked up Wednesday in Bennington, on a warrant out of Hoosick Falls for burglary.

While police don't believe he's armed, they think he knows he's being looked after and chased – and will become desperate.

If you see Faatz or know someone with details on his whereabouts, call 911.
