Police: shooting victim arrested for being involved in incident

ALBANY-- Police say the 19-year-old man who was shot Friday evening on Third Street has been charged for having a handgun and firing it during the incident. 

Police responded to the scene after they were told shots were fired. Shortly after, Albany Medical Center told police a man entered the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Jamir Hartfield of Albany was treated at the hospital and taken into custody. 

Hartfield was also charged with another incident that happened on Anderson Avenue early January. Police say he damaged two vehicles by standing and jumping on their hoods.
