According to Albany Police, 32-year-old Keith R. Edwards shoved the victim multiple times. When she tried calling 9-1-1, Edwards took her phone and threw it. He also removed fuses from her vehicle to disable it.

When police arrived, the victim said Edwards fled back inside and barricaded the doors with furniture. An Albany County Sheriff's Office negotiator was able to convince Edwards to walk out unarmed and was taken into custody without any trouble.

Edwards was charged with one count of criminal mischief in the fourth degree, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and one count of criminal tampering in the third degree.
