Mechanicville horse trainer Chad Brown may have violated federal labor laws.

The Labor Department wants Brown to pay $1.6 million in damages and back wages to employees of his company, along with civil penalties.

The government says Brown failed to pay overtime to workers at Belmont and Saratoga and didn't keep time sheets and payroll records as required.
