The lights are back on for around 7,000 customers in Saratoga County.

National Grid says the outage that began Thursday morning was caused by an equipment problem at a substation on Brook Road in Saratoga Springs.

Customers in Saratoga Springs, Greenfield, Milton, and Ballston Spa were among those affected. That included Division Street Elementary School and Saratoga Springs High School.

By noontime, the schools' power was back and only 2,000 customers remained in the dark.

Just about everyone was back online later in the day.
