Crews around the Capital Region are busy preparing for the upcoming winter storm.
At Apalachee Salt in Coeymans, trucks are coming to fill up and then pile up their own salt sheds in towns and villages.
In Ravena, they will have a full staff ready. That includes shared services among the village, town and school district. The biggest challenge will be keeping up with everything. Their resources include two trucks, a payloader and a couple of pickup trucks.
"We've partnered with some local churches that can be used as shelters. They have generators in case we lose power. We had limited loss last time," said Bill Misurca, the Ravena mayor.
After the last storm and slight warm up, some ground is truly saturated. The question is whether more moisture can be absorbed, or will it cause flooding and freezing.
