The man accused of causing the crash that killed a beloved Warren County boat builder could soon be facing more serious charges.
Skyler Crouse is currently charged with manslaughter.
He's accused of crashing into a truck on the Northway Exit 25 off-ramp in 2019, killing Joseph Turcotte.
Police say Crouse was driving upwards of 111 miles per hour before the crash.
Crouse rejected the plea deal Thursday that would send him to prison for 15 to 20 years.
After he rejected the deal, the district attorney said he's considering upping the charges to depraved indifference murder, based on recent changes in the law.
Crouse's trial is scheduled to begin on June 7.
In addition to charges for the crash, he faces charges for spitting at a NewsChannel 13 photographer. His attorney asked the court that it be removed.
