Calls for resignation of officer involved in death of Eric Garner

July 23, 2019 05:52 AM

There will be a call on Tuesday to demand the firing of the officer involved in the death of Eric Garner in New York City.

In 2014, police confronted Garner for selling loose cigarettes in New York City and then restrained him.

Officer Daniel Pantaleo was accused of putting Garner in an illegal chokehold. He later died.

Last week, the Justice Department will not file federal charges against the officer.

Now protestors are calling on the NYPD commissioner to fire him.
