There's new concern over making the switch to paper grocery bags-- just five weeks ahead of New York’s plastic bag ban.

The Department of Environmental Conservation held a public hearing on Monday.

The American Progressive Bag Alliance, a lobbying firm in support of the plastic bag industry, spoke at the hearing.

The group's message, other than urging more conversation about the law, warned the DEC about a possible paper bag shortage.
