BETHLEHEM- Dozens arrived at the Four Corners in Delmar to “back the blue” Saturday.

The event was organized by Bethlehem resident Keith Wiggand.

“De-funding the police is not the right thing to do, we need the police. Period,” says Wiggand.

At the same time, a Black Lives Matter protest took place.

Bethlehem Police was on hand to keep the peace.

“Our job is to preserve everybody’s fundamental rights as well as ensure the safety of everyone in the community here today,” says Commander Adam Hornick.

The department’s goal is to increase the dialogue between both sides of the issue and make any necessary changes says Hornick.

When asked if everyone can work together, Keith Wiggand says he does not want to talk to anyone who calls him racist.
